studio3eight worked to bring an existing site with hotel, retail, banking and residential programs into a new era, worthy of its location and importance as a place of congregation within the district. Circulation and function locations are completely reworked to make maximum use of the corner site and generate activity and interest on the street. Additional amenities such as a pool and alfresco dining are included, offering both the desired old world charm as well as the best of modern convenience. This was all done with an overlay of sustainability, the envelope being carefully studied to reduce solar gain and power consumption.
